Yesterday, we spotted a new children’s book-app for iPad called Road To Rock, which got kids to colour in pictures of a fictional 80s hair metal band. It looked fun, so we popped it in the Apps Extra section of our Bulletin with a one-line write up. Then we saw who the publisher was and thought it was worth revisiting. Road To Rock is the work of Warner Music Group – a surprising foray into the kids’ book-apps market. As far as we can tell, there isn’t a direct link to any specific WMG artist, but we’re fascinated to see where this release may lead in the future. WMG worked with New York design agency Soundscreen Design on the app.
