We wrote about EMI’s campaign for Kylie Minogue’s 25th anniversary of being a music artist earlier this year (Bulletin, 25-Jan-12). The campaign continues, and is doing well at drumming up excitement on Twitter. On Friday, fans could unlock a virtual Abbey Road studio by tweeting with the hashtag #K25studio, which saw their avatar posted on its wall. Once 10,000 did, a new recording of On A Night Like This was unlocked. It took 40 minutes, with the hashtag the number one global trending topic on Twitter for the last 34 minutes of that, quickly replaced by #onanightlikethis once the track unlocked. Meanwhile, the image of the avatar-wall has been made available for fans to use as their Facebook Timeline cover, too.
