Sony unveiled its first two devices since ditching Ericsson: the Xperia P is a powerful Android handset, while the Xperia U is a more affordable model. HTC unveiled a new series of Android smartphones branded ‘One’, with photography the key feature. However, the company also has a deal with Dropbox to give users’ 25GB of free storage – its equivalent of Apple’s iCloud – and has upgraded its Beats audio technology to work with third-party Android apps like Spotify and Pandora. LG showed off its Optimus 4X HD smartphone – Android again, with a powerful quad-core processor inside. And finally, Samsung had a handset called the Beam, with a built-in projector.
