TV channel VH1 is the latest brand to work with Foursquare on a dedicated badge for the social location app, and music is a key part of the partnership. VH1’s non-profit Save the Music Foundation is aiming to get more American students learning to play instruments. The link with Foursquare supports its work thus: for every person that follows VH1’s Foursquare account and then check in to a music venue or concert during March and April, VH1 will donate $1 to the Save the Music Foundation. Meanwhile, VH1 will also be promoting its Foursquare account during the SXSW festival this month, creating a list of live music venues.
