Streaming music service Deezer was one of the speakers at the Financial Times’ Digital Media conference yesterday in London. UK managing director Mark Foster gave an interesting stat: apparently 60% of new signups in the UK are coming from mobile phones, rather than the Deezer website. The driver behind this appears to be the same as in its French homeland: a partnership with mobile operator Orange. It’s bundling a Deezer subscription as an option in its Panther monthly tariff, and promoting the service to its other customers. Foster also said Deezer has now completed the necessary licensing negotiations to continue its global rollout, and added that Deezer now has 6m unique visitors a month, with 20m users overall.
