A little blue tick next to a public figure or brand’s name on Twitter means verification – they are who they say they are. Now Gracenote has inked a deal with Twitter to make it easier for musicians to get verified by developing tools for artists to request this status. “Gracenote’s work with labels, artists and artist management, along with the scope and breadth of our database, will allow us to identify and qualify these artists effectively and efficiently,” says president Stephen White. This actually follows on neatly from a partnership between the two companies announced earlier this year (Bulletin, 11-Jan-12) which saw Gracenote distributing tweets from verified artists into its partner music services.
