Social game Music Festivals has a new industry partner: British ticketing site The Ticket Factory. The Facebook game gets people to create their own virtual music festivals, and now The Ticket Factory has launched a branded stage that can be added to them. It will spotlight the artists whose gigs are being sold on its website that week. For now, they won’t be able to buy tickets within the Music Festivals game itself, but that’s coming “in the near future”. The game’s developer SoshiGames is already working with 7digital and Sonisphere as it looks to build buzz among music fans. “We wanted to create a game that used real music and made discovering and purchasing music a really fun experience for players,” explains commercial director Cliff Dennett. It’s early days for the game though: Facebook’s stats show it currently has 5,000 monthly active users.
