Ticketing service Eventbrite wants to make it easier for independent venues to run mobile box offices. It’s launched something called The At The Door Card Reader: an accessory for the iPad that works with a partner app (also called At The Door) for venue owners to accept payments for tickets and merchandise, while also wirelessly printing receipts and tickets. The reader costs $10 for venue owners. “At The Door transforms an off-the-shelf iPad into a paradigm-shifting tool for managing sales for events,” claims CEO Kevin Hartz. “We’re essentially taking the devices that are proliferating among consumers and transforming them into perfectly tailored tools for event organizers.”
