Artist Michel Telós has struck digital gold in Germany with his Ai Se Eu Te Pego! single. It’s sold more than 600k downloads in that country alone, making the singer the first Brazilian artist to top the charts in Germany. Billboard reports that another recent track, Gotye feat. Kimbra’s Somebody That I Used To Know, is already the third best-selling download of all time in Germany. Both tracks are from Universal Music. “This is the result of our dedicated A&R work as well as our long-term strategy defining digital channels as an integral part of our distribution portfolio,” says the label’s Frank Briegmann. The IFPI revealed last week that digital revenues in Germany rose from $186m in 2010 to $225m in 2011.
