
Shazam’s latest content partnership unites its music and TV activities: American Idol. Every episode in the rest of its current US run will be taggable using Shazam’s app, providing fans with the list of songs performed (and links to buy them), as well as Twitter feeds, social media links and photo/video content from the American Idol website. “As we surpass more than 200m users worldwide, this initiative marks another major achievement for Shazam,” says CEO Andrew Fisher. “American Idol is the first live series following the successful Shazam for TV integration of this year’s Super Bowl and Grammy Awards.”
