We wrote earlier this week about startup Livebeats’ plans to stream a New Kids On The Block and Backstreet Boys gig on Facebook. Now one of its rivals in this space, Milyoni, has announced its own new series of gigs, working with a partner called FANetwork. In fact, it’s two separate series: Will Power will be gigs “celebrating women empowerment and focusing on artists that personify strength, compassion and social awareness”, kicking off with the already-announced Imogen Heap gig on 22 April (Bulletin, 18-Apr-12). Meanwhile, Global Sounds will focus on Christian artists, starting with Grammy-nominee Jeremy Camp. Each gig will be free to watch on Facebook for 24 hours after it happens, but fans will be encouraged to pledge $5 or more as a donation to watch for longer and access additional content, with artists donating a portion of the proceeds to charity.
