More independent artists could be getting their own channels on Vevo, thanks to a partnership between the music videos service and digital distributor Ditto Music. Artists distributing their music via the latter will now be able to create their own channels and receive royalties for their views. “Vevo is an incredible service and this means that a whole new wave of indie artists will be able to take advantage of video monetisation,” says Ditto’s CTO Jay Kerr. “This is a vital new revenue stream and it’s going to play an increasingly important role in helping support indie and unsigned artists to continue creating great music.”
