Spotify-fuelled playlists service ShareMyPlaylists has relaunched its iPhone and iPad app, with the key new feature being in-app playback of music using the libSpotify API – meaning users must have a registered Spotify premium account and have the Spotify app installed on their device. The app also puts more emphasis on discovery, with a curated list of featured playlists, the ability to browse by genre, and a chart of the top 50 playlists updated every Monday. “We’ve now brought our entire library of over 87,000 hand curated playlists into the iOS app to offer the widest possible choice of playlists available to enable new music discovery,” says CEO Kieron Donoghue. The site is currently generating 10,000 playlist plays a day, with more than 300 new playlists added every day.
