The UK isn’t the only country getting a new chart based on streaming music services. Germany is also getting a similar ranking, announced by Media Control and the German Music Industry Association. In this case, the chart will be a Top 20 drawing on data from Spotify, Simfy and other services, and will include ad-supported and premium streams. The first chart has already been released, and reveals that half of the top 20 streaming songs were not in the separate top 20 singles sales chart. Universal artist Alex Clare takes top spot with ‘Too Close’ in the inaugural list.
