The Pebble smart-watch has become (we think) the first Kickstarter project to raise more than $10m on the crowdfunding site. The gadget, which synchronises wirelessly with an iPhone or Android smartphone and runs apps, has attracted more than 66,800 backers, and sold out of its initial run of 85k units. The company behind it now has around five months to actually make the devices and send them to early backers, before cracking on with making a second run to go on commercial sale. “You, our backers, were the first group of people to believe in Pebble, and we want to return our focus to creating the most awesome watch possible for you,” explains the company.
