Streaming radio startup Senzari has announced a $1m funding round, with angel investors and Silicon Valley firm 500 Startups chipping in. The company’s service is currently live in the US, Brazil and Spain, touting a catalogue of 11m tracks – a stat that’s being touted as one of its key advantages over Pandora. Senzari says it will use the funding to hire more staff, continue developing its platform and expand to other countries, with Latin America seemingly a key focus for the company – it’s currently taking part in a ‘Geeks on a Plane’ startups tour of the region. Senzari has taken $3m of funding in total so far, showing the notable contrast between the investment required to get up and running as a personal radio service, versus on-demand streaming.
