2011’s hot digital music startup has lost its lustre in 2012, but could an Android app help to turn Turntable.fm’s fortunes around? The company has just ported its iPhone app to Google’s smartphone platform. Like the existing version, it’s free, and offers avatar-based DJ rooms for people to play music to one another. Chatting and voting are included. The app came out over the weekend, and so far has done between 5k and 10k downloads according to Google’s own stats.
