Not content with dominating everyone’s social media activities, Facebook is reported to be developing its own branded smartphone to launch next year. The company is said to be recruiting hardware and software engineers (including those who worked on the iPhone) for the device – codenamed `Buffy’. Why get into the handset business? “Mark [Zuckerberg] is worried that if he doesn’t create a mobile phone in the near future that Facebook will simply become an app on other mobile platforms,” an anonymous Facebook employee said.
