Last.fm has created an interesting new infographic that pinpoints which festivals in Europe, the US and Japan are best for seeing breaking acts (as well as who those acts are). It concludes that Bloc in the UK is the festival most likely to break new acts while Alt-J are the hottest new act across European festivals this summer. The chart was based on analysis of scrobbling data for 12,800 acts across 1,000 events, boiling it down to 10 key festivals. “Our data helps music fans find the right balance between new discoveries or already popular favorites at Festivals this summer,” said Omar Ali, data scientist at Last.fm. The company’s dedicated festival app has also been updated with this summer’s festivals and scans a user’s Last.fm profile to offer personalised recommendations of what new acts to see and where.
