Reports are claiming that Apple has acquired Redmatica, an Italian music software company. Its focus is on creating software to handle sampling, editing and music library management, including its KeyMap Pro product. It is not clear what Apple’s plans are, but CNet notes it bought SoundJam MP that eventually formed the basis of the iTunes software. Apple will, however, need Italian regulatory approval to acquire the company that generates just €100,000 a year in revenues.
