A hot new virtual world, designed like a nightclub, is set to be a new venue for musicians to connect with fans. Wait, what, is this 2006 again? That original virtual worlds / music crossover didn’t end so well, but Shaker is hoping to make a success of the idea – complete with funding from music managers Troy Carter and Scooter Braun, and partnerships with Live Nation and BandPage. Its virtual club, Club 53, opens later today.
