UK collecting society PPL hit out at digital media owners for allegedly dodging UK taxes, as it unveiled record financial results yesterday. PPL chairman Fran Nevrkla said the “the Big Five internet firms” paid only 0.8% tax on UK profits in 2010 because of tax loopholes, quoting from website This Is Money. PPL reported licence-fee income up 7% at £153.5m, with distributable revenue up 5% to £130.8m.
