KCRW has become the first US radio station to launch a Spotify app, representing a new field of partners for the streaming music service. The app, KCRW Music Mine for Spotify, offers a list of 100 songs chosen by its DJs, while also promoting other Spotify playlists maintained by the station. The app is based on the existing Music Mine iPad app, which launched last year (Bulletin, 15-Sep-11). As yet, the Spotify version doesn’t appear to be available outside the US.
