Streaming DJ-mixes site Awdio was talking about its plans to launch an iPhone app back in 2009 after all (Bulletin, 18-Mar-09), and subsequently teamed up with Schweppes for a branded app the next year (Bulletin, 14-May-10). Still, now it appears to finally have an official iPhone app of its own, streaming sets from artists, DJs, producers and labels from clubs around the world. It’ll compete with Mixcloud’s app, although with no ads and seemingly no subscription fees, if it’s popular, the app could stretch Awdio’s business model.
