Not the best of weeks for RIM CEO Thorsten Heins, who’s been defending BlackBerry against suggestions it’s not long for this world. He may be regretting using the phrase “death spiral” in an interview with Canada.com: even if Heins was saying RIM isn’t in one, that’s the phrase that’s raced around the blogosphere since. Heins is bullish on BlackBerry’s prospects, still. “There’s nothing wrong with the company as it exists right now. I’m not talking about the company as I, kind of, took it over six months ago. I’m talking about the company (in the) state it’s in right now.”
