Former Apple exec sheds light on App Store review process

Apple’s approval process for iOS apps remains a mystery to many developers, but now a former member of the company’s developer relations team has spilled some beans. “People have this idea that there are 100 people in India doing app reviews,” Mike Lee tells Business Insider. “It’s just people in a building at Apple, and like every other part of Apple, they can’t get enough really good people.” And it seems their main task is to prevent iOS users from being startled by errant penises. “Somebody has to sit there and filter out all those dicks. You can’t let all those dicks get through…”
