We mentioned iOS app Smudge. (yes, full-stop included) in passing in yesterday’s Music Ally Bulletin, but thought it deserved a closer look. Partly because of the people involved: techno legend Richie Hawtin and respected music-tech company Liine. The app works with an installation in the Space Ibiza club, where Hawtin is holding a solo residency this summer. “Twist, pull and warp Smudge to shape a step in the sequence of audio/visual events in the room,” explains its App Store description. People away from Ibiza can also use the app to create their own sequences.
