Spotify and EMI have both participated in several Music Hack Day events over the last year or two, but now they’re going it alone with their own event. It’ll take place on 6-8 August in Gothenberg, with promoter and agency Luger also a partner. They’re gathering music hackers from around Europe to make hacks around the theme of ‘music discovery’, with the event tying into the Way Out West music festival. The event is being styled as a “hack battle” – a difference to the more collaborative nature of Music Hack Days.
