Most music crowdfunding projects are run by artists rather than labels, but PledgeMusic has a new partnership that promises to get more labels involved. It’s working with digital distributor INgrooves Fontana on a “direct-to-fan retail channel” for INgrooves’ label clients. The idea being that labels can create PledgeMusic fan-funding campaigns from within INgrooves’ client console before an album comes out. Rock band Coheed and Cambria will be the first to take advantage later this summer.
