Pretty much every CEO in the technology industry has read or is reading Walter Isaacson’s authorised biography of Steve Jobs, but should they take the late Apple CEO as their role model? Wired has a very interesting piece on two possible paths: ‘acolytes’ (who want to ape Jobs’ famously no-prisoners-taken behaviour) and ‘rejectors’ (who see him as a cautionary tale, or in Wired’s words, an “asshole”). Stanford professor Robert Sutton gets the last word: “Everyone has their own private Steve Jobs. It usually tells you a lot about them—and little about Jobs.”
