Slipknot and Saatchi & Saatchi… together at last! The band has hired the agency to create their first official mobile app, which invites fans to “Step inside their world and find out what it truly means to ‘Wear the Mask.’”
Which as far as we can tell, involves answering a series of yes/no questions, and then being presented with a composite mask based on all the band members, which can be shared via Twitter, Facebook and email.
A fun promo idea, but we’re not convinced charging $1.99 for the app is the best strategy. The app is available for iPhone and for Android, which at least shows a willingness to appeal to fans without Apple devices – still rarer than you’d think in the music apps world.
