We reported last week (Bulletin, 27-Jul-12) on the launch of a Humble Music Bundle, selling five albums for a pay-what-you-want price, and chucking in a sixth for paying more than the average. It raced to more than $100k in payments in its first day, so how’s it been doing since? Not too bad. At the time of writing, 38,174 bundles have been sold, bringing in more than $315k of payments with an average purchase cost of $8.26. It’s hard to calculate what this means for the individual artists, as each individual buyer chooses how to split their payment between the artists, two charities and Humble Bundle itself.
