Google recently unveiled its Nexus Q gadget – a Sonos-style device capable of playing music and entertainment from Google’s cloud on home TVs and speakers. It went on pre-order in the US, but now Google has delayed the full launch, based on feedback from developers who were given one for free at its I/O conference. “The industrial design and hardware were met with great enthusiasm. We also heard initial feedback from users that they want Nexus Q to do even more than it does today. In response, we have decided to postpone the consumer launch of Nexus Q while we work on making it even better.” That may well include support for non-Google services like Spotify, Rdio, Rhapsody and the rest.
