Startup Tonara launched an innovative sheet-music iPad app last year (Bulletin, 13-Sep-11). Now it has raised $4m of Series A funding from Carmel Ventures, Index Ventures and other angel investors. Tonara plans to “invest in ongoing technology innovation, secure additional partnerships with sheet music publishers, and pursue strategic marketing initiatives” with the funds, and has already signed up US music publisher Hal Leonard. That means the in-app store will soon be selling sheet-music for songs by Adele, The Beatles and other artists.
