New figures from Triton Digital reveal that all the major internet radio services in the US saw their usage fall in June, in what the company is describing as “summer doldrums”. Pandora’s average active sessions (AAS) were down 2% month-on-month in June, with iHeartRadio (down 1%), CBS Radio (down 8%) and Slacker (down 2%) all experiencing drops too. That said, Pandora, iHeartRadio and Slacker all grew year-on-year (up 143%, 126% and 58% respectively), so the story is really long-term growth including a seasonal blip.
