Startup Jamplify’s pitch to the music industry may sound familiar: it wants to help artists identify their top fans, then reward them for promoting music across social networks and blogs. The idea: online street teams rewarded with points, and ultimately merchandise, personal messages and so on. The company even calls these campaigns “Jampaigns”. It sounds interesting, although it reminds us of Posse, the hotly-tipped Australian startup which had a similar idea, only to pivot completely away from it earlier this year after failing to get traction (Bulletin, 7-Jun-12).
