Earlier this week, Business Insider reported that a single tweet from Justin Bieber sent social app Stamped “to the top of the App Store” – a suggestion that’s been picked up in other stories. Bieber, of course, recently invested in Stamped (Bulletin, 25-Jul-12), so promoting it makes sense. The trouble is that it hasn’t worked that well. Stamped has already fallen out of the US App Store’s Top 200 Free Apps chart, and according to AppData, the tweet only added 1,054 active users to Stamped in the following two days, taking it to a paltry 7,866.
