It’s a sign of the tone of the current blogosphere debate around piracy that most sites are running with TorrentFreak’s interpretation of the Ukrainian authorities’ raid on torrent site Demonoid. It has labelled the raid “a gift to the United States government”, noting that it co-incided with deputy prime minister Valery Khoroshkovsky’s trip to the US to discuss copyright infringement, among other topics. The raid followed a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack that had kicked Demonoid offline, although according to the report, its administrators have not been arrested.
