Spotify has been hit with a patent suit by Dutch peer-to-peer IP Holder Nonend Inventions, which claims that the streaming service is infringing on five of its patents, covering areas such as streaming media, peer-to-peer search and playback techniques. Nonend tells Tech Crunch it is specifically targeting Spotify with the suit, rather than Pandora or other streaming services, as Spotify’s service is built on a P2P architecture.
