ShoutOut Radio is the latest startup looking to crowdfund a new app on Kickstarter. The iPhone and Android app aims to replace the idea of song dedications on traditional radio stations. “Just because we consume music differently doesn’t mean we still can’t send and dedicate music – right?” explains its Kickstarter pitch. “ShoutOut Radio lets you send, receive and hear music with your Facebook friends. It’s like your personal radio station where you can dedicate a song to a select few or send your favorite songs as a ShoutOut to all.” Said tracks come from users’ iPhone libraries, or ShoutOut Radio’s database, and the app also turns users’ Facebook friends’ ShoutOuts into a streaming radio station. The company says it has music rights signed up already, and is planning to launch its apps by October.
