Two separate pieces of news here relating to music blogs. First, MOG has sold off its MOG Music Network – an advertising network of music blogs and sites that was separate from the company’s streaming music service. The buyer is radio network Townsquare Media, with reports of a $10m price tag. MOG Music Network was unwanted by the company’s new owner Beats, but with 30m unique monthly visitors it remains a going concern. The second piece of news is more blog consolidation by media firm BuzzMedia, which is launching a new punk music news hub called AbsoluteVoices. BuzzMedia has acquired four blogs to form it: Under The Gun Review, Alter The Press!, PropertyOfZack, and Punknews.org.
