Artist Amanda Palmer famously made $19k in 10 hours selling t-shirts on Twitter back in 2009 (Bulletin, 25-Jun-09). Now she’s returned to the idea, making use of Twitter e-commerce platform Chirpify. This week, she started selling a ‘Stop Pretending Art is Hard’ t-shirt for $20 to her Twitter followers. According to Hypebot, at its peak Palmer was selling a t-shirt every 30 seconds, although a headline figure for the night’s takings has yet to emerge. It’s one of the most high-profile campaigns for Chirpify so far: the company’s platform helps people sell on Twitter, and others to buy simply by replying to the promotional tweet.
