A group of politicians in the US House of Representatives has written a letter to the US Attorney General and Secretary of Homeland Security expressing concern at anti-piracy-related seizures of website domain names, focusing on the infamous case of hip-hop site Dajaz1. “Much of Dajaz1’s information was lawful, and many of the allegedly infringing links to copyrighted songs, and specifically the links that were the basis of the seizure order, were given to the site’s owner by artists and labels themselves,” write Congress members Zoe Lofgren, Jared Polis and Jason Chaffetz. “We are deeply concerned that ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] and its sister agencies may be failing to properly investigate and prosecute cases brought under the PRO-IP Act.”
