As ever with this kind of stat, the real question is ‘400% growth from what to what?’ Ticketing firm Ticketfly isn’t giving those numbers for now. Instead, it’s hailing its momentum in Los Angeles over the last 18 months, where it’s lured venues including The Troubadour, Echoplex and Hollywood Forever away from Ticketmaster to use its platform. The news comes shortly after Ticketfly raised $22m of new funding in July to push its business forward. At the time of the funding, Ticketfly said it had 100 staff and 300 affiliate partners, but that it was pressing on to sign up more venues. Excitable claims from tech blogs about the company disrupting Ticketmaster aren’t a surprise, but Ticketfly still has some scaling-up to do before that becomes a reality.
