We first wrote about Songster and its creator Mowgli Games in March this year. It was a Facebook social music game where players take on the role of an aspiring artist, creating music by dragging and dropping samples.
Now there’s a spin-off iPhone app describing itself as “a playground for your voice”. The idea being people can sing into their iPhone mic and then apply vocal effects before saving their songs.
However, it also ties into Songster on Facebook, recording vocals for the music tracks that have been made in the social game.
It sounds fun and innovative, although Mowgli will be hoping the app gives the parent game a boost: it currently only has 3,000 monthly active users (MAUs) and 100 daily active users (DAUs).
