We reported on Friday about Google’s decision to close its Google Music service in China, which looked like good news for rival Baidu’s own Ting. Now that service has been rebranded as Baidu Music. Well, as TechInAsia points out, the rebranding has been going on for a little while, showing first in the company’s mobile app. But the Baidu Ting website changed to Baidu Music on the very day that Google made its shutdown announcement. Timing is everything. Baidu is also giving Baidu Music a big push on its main search engine’s homepage, making it one of the buttons at the top of the page for easy access.
