Who’s havin’ MGK? Yeah, you know, Sony Entertainment Network’s Music Unlimited service. Bad Boy/Interscope artist Machine Gun Kelly has inked an exclusive deal to distribute his new EP through Sony’s cloud/streaming service early in October, as a promotion for his new album the week after. It’s one of the first such campaigns we’ve heard of on Music Unlimited – or at least the first one Sony has shouted about – although these kinds of partnerships are increasingly common across the streaming music ecosystem. How much impact will it have? Hard to say: Sony has kept rather quiet about the number of people using its service since January this year, when it claimed 1m active users (Bulletin, 12-Jan-12).
