Print is dead! No, wait, print is the new gig! Oh, we can’t keep up with these changing trends… What we can do, though, is tell you about Last Dinosaurs, a band signed to UMG subsidiary Fiction Records, who are planning to hold a gig on a magazine page. Yes, this is about augmented reality technology, if you hadn’t guessed already, although ‘gig’ is over-selling it a bit. When fans point AR app Aurasma at an advert in October’s issue of The Fly magazine here in the UK, they’ll watch a live performance of the Australian band’s new single ‘Zoom’, seemingly taking place within the page itself. Creative agency Superhero worked with Fiction on the promotion.
