Here’s a collision of brands: Volkswagen, Spotify, Paul Weller and Abbey Road Studios. They’re coming together for a competition that will see fans trying to win tickets to see Weller play a gig in the studios on 9 November. They enter by visiting Volkswagen’s Facebook page, browsing Spotify’s collection and adding tracks to a ‘VW Beetle Iconic Tracks’ playlist. 50 winners will get pairs of tickets, while Spotify will promote the campaign through ads in its desktop streaming client. Wisely, there’s no ‘Weller will play the top-voted tracks’ angle, which would be asking for trouble of the ‘a nation submits the discography of the Cheeky Girls’ variety.
