Millions of Brits are watching The X Factor on their TVs while tweeting or Facebooking about it on a second screen. Now they could be watching something on that second screen too. That something is called #YAPPFACTOR – yes, its name is a hashtag – and it’s the result of a partnership between Zeebox and ShowCaster. The idea: a separate TV show featuring comedian Jake Yapp giving his “acerbic tongue-in-cheek commentary” on the main X Factor show while it airs, viewed within Zeebox’s second-screen app. #YAPPFACTOR’s first episode will air this Saturday (6 October). We’re as interested in seeing whether Zeebox generates many iTunes Store music sales from its iOS app during the weekly live shows.
